Volunteer Spotlight

Volunteer Spotlight: Greg Clear

SPECIAL THANKS TO A
SPECIAL VOLUNTEER

Ocean Explorium volunteer Gregory Clear carries his business card (designed by his son) with him at all times. Beneath his name appears the single title that truly fits this Renaissance man: Genius.

All modesty aside, Greg has proven himself worthy of this title through the generous donation of his many talents to the Ocean Explorium. A Mechanical Engineer and MBA by training, there does not seem to be any material or mechanism that Greg cannot bend to his will. After thorough examination and, perhaps, a thoughtful pause to ponder the task at hand, Greg proceeds with confidence and aplomb.

Plumbing? No problem!
Carpentry? Not to worry!
Whiz-bang tanks and life-support systems? What's not to like?

Greg has worked side-by-side with Exhibits Curator Warren Gibbons for one and a half years, amassing over 600 volunteer hours helping with the expansion of exhibits. Some fabrications, too large to be undertaken in the Ocean Explorium, were completed in Greg's shop and brought here for on-site assembly.

Thank you, Greg! Your gift of time and talent is, indeed, a treasure!

The Ocean Explorium is grateful to all the volunteers who assist with admissions, animal husbandry, education programs, gift shop, office tasks, and more. We absolutely could not have
achieved all that we have without our volunteers!
